Wings SC started in 1987 as New Hope/Plymouth Wings Soccer Club and officially became Wings Soccer Club (Wings SC) in 1991. Wings SC continues its close affiliation with District 281 while attracting top players and coaches from the entire Twin Cities metro area.
Today, Wings SC is one of the fastest growing clubs in Minnesota. With over 400 recreational players and 1100 travel players, Wings SC has quickly gained state and regional recognition.
Wings SC has also become a leader in youth soccer in Minnesota. It is the pioneer in playing small-sided games at the U6-U9 level. Wings SC developed a 4v4 model for the young age groups that emphasized touches on the ball, fun and learning. The MYSA and other clubs have followed suite and are now implementing small-sided game formats.
Wings SC is led by Director of Coaching and Player Development Steve Bellis. Steve is in his 6th year with Wings SC and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the club. A former coach with world giants Manchester United, Steve holds the UEFA “B” License and is on staff with the Minnesota ODP program. Steve is well known in Minnesota as a coach and is a favorite with players from both the club and ODP.
Wings SC also has a staff of coaches not found in most clubs. Wings SC features: Full-Time Assistant Director of Coaching and Recreational Director Scott Eisentrager; Full-Time Staff of Trainers; Full-Time Strength and Conditioning Coach; 5 USSF National “B” Licensed Coaches; 2 USSF National “C” Licensed Coaches; 10 USSF State “D” Licensed Coaches; 10 Minnesota ODP Coaches; 6 College Coaches; 15 Current and Former College Players as Coaches; Year Round Training Programs and Facilities.
Wings SC is a place for players who want to learn the game of soccer, be trained by experienced coaches, make new friends, and have fun playing soccer.
