Fitness Training

For the first time Wings SC will be offering a professionally designed winter training program to facilitate soccer specific development of speed, quickness, core strength, endurance, running technique as well as general fitness and basic ball skills. The program will be taught by Wings SC staff and will incorporate modern fitness methods designed to be safe, simple and effective for athletes from ages U11-U19.

A key component of this program will be a series of entry and exit physical tests to show each player’s development and provide a framework for individual continued development. Participants will be introduced to a variety of safe, fun and functional training exercises as well as basic fitness principles necessary for them to better understand their own physical development as players and healthy individuals.

The program will consist of two, seven-week sessions that will meet once a week at Hosterman School on Saturday evenings for 55 minutes of intense training. The program will be offered to Wings SC players playing on Premier, Classic 1, Classic 2 or Classic 3 level teams. Participants should come prepared with indoor soccer shoes, or other flat soled training shoes, a ball, and water.
