What sets Wings SC Player Development Academy apart is the philosophy behind the approach.  All staff members and instructors are not only players with the ability to demonstrate, but first and foremost teachers of the game committed to player development. Through an educational approach, instructors are well versed in all technical (individual skills) and tactical (decision making) aspects of the game and also understand the methodology of how to teach effectively and efficiently.
Academy Director, Manny Sanchez, has an established reputation as one of the finest teachers of the game in the US. His love and passion for teaching and emphasis on Player development has led to the creation of the Academy. Within the Academy, he can teach the fundamentals of the game in a structured enviroment with a focus on developing the players for the future.
Key to the methodology is teaching a progressive age-appropriate and age-specific curriculum designed to motivate players and prepare them for the future. All players that go through Wings SC Player Development Academy receive a consistent, yet innovative, approach with emphasis on learning through enjoyment while developing their skills and a passion for the game.
Our emphasis is on players getting as many touches on the ball as possible and providing plenty of opportunities to score goals. through a small games-based approach (4v4, 8v8), our Academy staff provides soccer-related objectives that cover all aspects of the game.
The four components of the game (Fitness, Tactical, Technical, and Psychological) will be covered every day during an Academy session. The small-sided games-based approach is a proven mechanism to create the optimum learning enviroment that is fun and challenging to the players of all ages and ablilities.
